Bucs head to our nation's capital

Pittsburgh will take on Washington tonight in the first of a three-game sat against the Nationals.
I believe the Bucs have a chance to win this series. If that is done, they will be three games over .500 and return home against the lowly Houston Astros, a team they should sweep.
I'm not saying they're going to the playoffs, or even going to break .500 for that matter, but they are playing some good ball right now. Even when the offense stinks, which is most of the time, good pitching and defense have been there to pick up the bats.
That said, if the bats don't pick up it is going to be very difficult for the Pirates to get by the Milwaukee's and St. Louis' of the world. The NL Central is probably the most wide-open division. No team is going to run away with it. I would say the division winner's magic number is 85.
Pittsburgh has the potential to do that if the pitching stays solid and the hitter comes along. It's second to last in the NL in batting. At least get up into the top ten.
Call me crazy, most do, but I think they have a chance of winning the NL Central if the bats pick up.

  2. Ok, I am calling you crazy.

If the bats dont pick up, the pitching has to return to normal, and the swoon begins anew.

This joke of a FO has to throw around some manhole covers to get a bat, or just fold the team, and go to AAA.

Never going to get a better shot. The perfect storm is right in front of their eyes. Seize the moment and invest some coin NOW. Go out and get some much needed offense NOW. Even if it blows up in their face they’re going to benefit from this slight surge forward toward respectability after years of failure with their fan base. Time form Nutting & Co. to “put up or shut up”. Better yet – “put up” or sell to someone that will.

  4. Glad that nobody listens to idiots like you three commenters! Even a moron should be able to see one bat isn't going to make any difference, the Bucs need at least three.

Is this the "safe zone" where the idiots run and hide after they get smacked down on SmizBlog for lying about stats and contract law? Where the community college rejects collaborate? It's a shame because the authors on here actually do a good job!

Authors - please use more pictures in your posts, they help break up the main blog page.

  6. Hey Anonymous Ass:

How did I lie exactly about contract law?
I stated an opinion, and admitted a mistake, and now I lied??

Let us know who you are, both on here and your Smizblog name.

Until then, you are the liar, and a cowardly phony to boot.
