Bucs need a sweep

After Wednesday night's 8-2 setback to the Houston Astros, the Pittsburgh Pirates are at 45-42.
The Bucs get a day off today, then host the Chicago Cubs for three games at PNC Park before the All-Star break.
If the Pirates sweep the Cubs, they would move to 48-42 at the break. Pittsburgh has owned Chicago in the past few seasons, and they could possibly move into first place with an impressive showing this weekend. They travel to Houston after the break. They also have a four-game set with Atlanta and three games with Philadelphia to close out the month.
Those final seven games could be very telling, as the Bucs will move into the final two months of the season.
Last night's game wasn't their best effort. Houston's five-spot all started off on an error. Errors happen, but they can't allow it to start a big inning. I give credit to the Astros. They are dead last in the division, something Pittsburgh knows all too well, but they battled.

  2. I was just in the process of marking those as spam as you posted.

And THAT, folks, marks the first deletion in the history of the Mutiny.

  4. Don't worry folks, everything will soon be OK. According to Dejan Kovacevic, Bob Nutting could very well be the savior of the Pirates and he will soon spend lavishly on high priced elite talent to improve the PBC and turn them into a team that competes for a championship every year.

In other news, I just followed a Leprechaun to the end of the rainbow and stole his pot of gold. Free corndogs and beer for all!!

That's not at all what Kovacevic said.

Your comprehension skills are poor, but then again you don't really seem interested in doing as much.

I'll take that as a compliment coming from someone who doesn't know how to create a google account or comment on here with an actual screen name.

Now do us all favor Jerky and go fuck yourself.

  7. @ Anonymous: Its According to Bob Nutting, and his crony in the Latin American scouting department (that has produced so much talent for the Pirates over the past two decades) they are ready to spend money to make the team a constant competitor. DK just reported what was said directly to him. That is his job.
Excuse us if we take these quotes with a cynical viewpoint after enduring so many years of lies, lines, and low priced losers.

“Neal's going to need to make decisions that are good for the long term of the Pittsburgh Pirates and be able to make sure we're playing important games this September but also next September and the year after that."

"The easy decisions are the dollars. We've built in that flexibility. We only need to make decisions based on the interests of the Pittsburgh Pirates."

“…But I also can say that I believed from the beginning in the steps we were taking to restore championship-caliber baseball to Pittsburgh.”

These are things that are easy to say. The question is, will they finally be done.

  8. Hi everyone, I usually post at the Tavern but I'm too scared to let anyone know who I am on here so I will post anonymously. I have no original thoughts of my own, I do and think whatever Kipper says which includes calling others lemmings (even though we would follow Kipper off a cliff if he told us). All we know how to do is put down and complain about others who do not follow our messiah Kipper's word and who do not love everything that Bob Nutting, Frank Coonelly, and Neal Huntingdon say or do.
