Sorry, I've heard the same arguments over and over and over and over. This blog is entertainment to me because I can't believe people can be so clueless as to believe that anyone with something positive to say must work for the team. And I can't believe grown men can whine so much about having their comments deleted from a blog. Or post a comment to a blog that's been dead for three years "Just to be an asshole". And most of all I can't believe anyone would ever think that Bob Smizik has the influence to spark any kind of government investigation into the Pirates (How's that going by the way?)
I'll be too busy watching this team play well and win.
And I won't be thinking about ways to blame the front office because only one guy made the all-star team.
i have seen that site. Talk about irony. That particular thread is nothing but 5 guys paying homage to the moderator kipper and hating everyone who doesn't agree with them. There is no room for dissention. If you don't agree with them you are immediately banned. I guess it is perfectly OK if they do it but no one else is allowed.

Something I'd like to clarify to any Pros who are reading over our blog: being Anti-Nutting does not make us Anti-Baseball or Anti-Pirates.
ReplyDeleteThe reason we are so pissed off at the greedy bastards who own the club, is the great harm they have done to our favorite team. So to claim that we go about posting our viewpoint because we are just grumpy and miserable, or because we hate the Pirates is far from the truth.
Those sort of tactics in arguments are akin to saying that just because someone has viewpoints opposite of your political party, that they just "evil doers" who "hate America".
Trust me, we all enjoy seeing the refreshing change in that the ballclub is playing above average and WELL above established expectations this season. That nice circumstance does not mean that our fundamental position has changed one iota however. The Pirates ownership and front office have thus far done not one thing different than they have for the prior 18 seasons. Its just that this year they have a team of over-achieving, fun to watch cheap players instead of the usual under-achieving, miserable cheap players.
Until the Nuttings and their minions put their $$$ where their ever-running mouths are, or until they sell the damn team to someone who wants to build a winner, not just luck into one every decade or so, we will continue to hold a hard line against them. And still enjoy the game of baseball, and our team, in the process
